Started in 2001, the Dot NAME domain name extension is the sole TLD meant for personal web pages only. These domains can be personal or fictional names, nicknames and/or other designations people are known by. At first, solely third-level registrations were allowed, so if you wished to reserve john.doe.name, you would have to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were loosened and second-level registrations were also allowed. Already grabbed third-level names remained online.

Through our company, you can reserve your .NAME domain for a period between one and ten years. You will have the opportunity to edit the WHOIS contact details, to park your domain, to set up Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an active domain to our company if you obtain its EPP transfer authorization key from the present domain registrar and we will renew it when the transfer has been completed. There are no specific terms on who can book a .NAME domain name, but in order to keep the goal behind its creation alive, the Registry organization may verify who the owner is and if there is no connection between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration may be challenged.
